Learn to snatch, then
Squat Snatch 1-1-1-1-1

Sorry for the late update, but the evening class on Thursday did some high skill work and did some squat snatches. Nobody in the class had really done a lot of work on this lift, but everyone did crazy well learning it.

Mike P put up some really good numbers with power snatches, followed up by a really good OHS.

Cara quickly fixed some problems she used to have with the final jump of the lift (the same problem that used to show up with her push jerk and clean). She used to lean forward during the jump, but quickly fixed it and some other small problems, and put up some crazy good numbers.

Catherine threw down some really nice nearly-full-depth overhead squats during the skill transfer exercises of the warmup, which considering she struggled to do full depth regular squats when she started, is incredible. This lady works hard and is going to continue to impress everyone.

Pat, what can I say, the dude’s way stronger than he lets himself seem, and you should have seen his speed getting back under the bar. With barely having done any Olympic movements before, he looked today like he’s been doing it for months.

Ryanne I think had done some work with snatches before, but not much, and it was a long time ago. Nevertheless, her form on the movements was incredible, and I could literally watch her fight through a mental block that wasn’t letting her get under the bar. By the end of the workout, it was no problem.

Bill, in one of his first group classes, was putting up numbers that I’ve never snatched myself in the nearly two years I’ve been working on it. Dude’s strong, and has quickly learned some good form in his movements.
