I have no idea if I’m going to do a squat clean and jerk, Squat clean thruster or Power clean thruster. I guess I’ll just go with what feels most comfortable tonight.

I just did it. Squat clean followed by split jerk was most efficient for me, but that’s probably because it was 20# over my BW! Good luck.

Split Jerks!!! Yeaaaaa! Why must they be spoiled by squat cleans…what is wrong with a good ol’ regular power clean?!

Split jerk? Sounds like a lot of wasted time to finish each rep. I’m thinking squat clean to thruster/push jerk. Why power clean it when you can catch it low? But, this is just a rookie’s opinion! 🙂

I’m putting a patent on my ninja kick clean…
John, I did split jerks because my 1RM split jerk max is 185+, whereas my 1RM on the push jerk is 10-20lbs less, am my thruster 1RM is even lower. I only weigh 144 so I had to go with my strength as opposed to what would be a faster rep. Muscle failure set in pretty quickly. I got 12 rounds.

the thing with this workout is…the speed of the rep itself doesn’t really matter. the only way it matters is if you can keep going without resting. In this case – that’s not the case. People are going to end up in their comfort zone no matter what…this WOD actually got me ‘shaking’ half way though. Like I was in a fight or something.

Thanks, JD. I hit it again this morning and got 12 rounds plus 1 squat clean. I actually tried to pace myself a little slower at the beginning, which really didn’t work after 2 minutes. I could only go as fast as my muscles would allow, which is much different than the first to WODs, which I could go as fast as my lungs and mind would allow. Oh well, I’m satisfied. Good luck!
