WARNING***WARNING***WARNING***
This stuff is like Crack..
I tripled the amounts on everything and made a big ass batch.
The one in the green container I mixed up as soon as it came out of the oven and threw in coconut and cranberries. The others I let harden in the freezer, the idea was to make bars but it broke apart in big pieces. Not pretty but good.
5 cups nuts and seeds (I used slivered almonds, pumpkin seeds, flax seeds, pecans, and sunflower seeds; you can use whatever you want, but make sure you use at least 2 – 3 cups slivered almonds, as these take the place of what is normally oats)
1/3 cup honey (or maple syrup or any other Paleo-approved sweetener)
1/3 cup Paleo-friendly coconut oil
1/4 cup Vanilla Agave organic syrup.
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp nutmeg
1 cup cranberries
1 cup shredded unsweetened coconut
Mix honey, oil, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg in a small saucepan and bring to a boil on the stove. Let it cool. Spread the nuts and seeds out on a greased baking sheet and pour the cooled honey mixture over the top. Mix it around to get everything covered, and bake for 30 minutes at 300 degrees. Allow the pan to cool slightly and then put the mixture into a bowl. Mix in cranberries and coconut.
Oh ya this WOD sucked…
Looks like a fun WOD. I had to workout at home today. Since I can’t DL at home I re-did Angie, scaled like I did last month, in 26:30. That’s about a 7 minute PR. woo
I will try this recipe. Any substitutions for the agave syrup, I’m not sure that’s Paleo?
Just use the honey…
Yep JD is right you can do with out the Agave and the honey alone will make it happen. Dont think you would even know the difference.
Thanks for the recipe, looking forward to trying it out, possibly as I let my hands heal after that WOD.
Man, this looks good!
Rx weight, pull ups with the band. Destroyed my hands, but finished just under 25 mins, my goal was under 30 so I was very happy.
Don’t laugh yet how do you get to do 50 pull-ups when you can not really do 1?
On other topics:
The site has had some “interesting” pictures lately and now some sort of yummy looking food…what gives.. as it is leading me to ask if anyone of those ladies are single and in their 30s and also know these recipes.. yet that isn’t what i visit this site for.. mostly for work out motivation as all of you sure do serious work outs week after week.
Everybody does pull-ups Matt…Resistance is futile. Set up your assessment.
WHO IS MATT?????
Apprently it’s not DeMinico…lol
Who is Matt? I am Matt.. just some local guy who has visited the site for about a year.. so I know all about YOU ALL..
Alright not really, just who the odd ones are to avoid.
I agree with JD, set up your assessment. I joined up a little over 60 days ago and never thought I could do 150 pull ups in a workout. Yesterday I was able to do it. You’ll get so much out of the group dynamic (a lot more than just doing this stuff on your own!).
Pat is spot on. We joined pretty much at the same time. We’re completely different body types but are both making huge strides, in a short time, toward our goal of great overall fitness. The group dynamic can’t be ignored. It’s a judgement free zone with only positive reinforcement…you can’t help but push yourself to the limit in that environment.
