2012 Oakland County CrossFit Games!
Another great event put on by our friends to the north. Over 100 athletes (competing as male/female partner teams) competed in this years OCCF Games. Good times! Special congrats to Megatron (Kari Karhoff) and The Chiropractinator (Dr. Berlin) for taking 2nd overall. If it wasn’t for Justin’s freakishly fit brother (Brad) and his equally badass partner Jen Osborn they would’ve won the whole thing! The real important thing was that everybody had a good time. Special congrats to all first time competitors! Nice work everyone!

Justin, Mel, Donna, or anyone else that might have the power/energy/wod (whatever they were called) ball recipe. I remember dates, coconut, and a food processor. Could someone help me out, I’ve found a few recipes online that seem close, but I would like to know how to make the kind from yesterday. Thanks!
This is the recipe that Mel emailed to me a while back. I thought I heard Justin’s mommy made the ones that were floating around yesterday.
Powerballs~ 10-12 pitted medjool dates, 1/4 cup raw cashews, 1/4 cup raw blanched almonds, 1/4 organic crunchy peanut butter, 1 TBSP organic ground flax seed, 1 TBSP green powder (kelp…personal choice), 1/4 TSP cinnamon, organic unsweetened coconut (finely shredded to roll powerballs in). Put all ingredients (except coconut) into food processor, blend well until ingredients form a ball. Remove ball. Remove small pieces from large ball and roll into several small balls. Then roll in unsweetened coconut. Store in air tight container.
Yep! That’s it, I got the recipe from Mrs. Berlin. She told me she used less dates and more almond butter (for the paleo goers). She calls them “Grandma’s Cookies” haha 🙂
