Got a note from Kathleen the other day on how things are going, she said it’s ok if I let you’s all’s read it:
Well I am off for the weekend and then back to the field for training. It has been more challenging than I ever dreamed of…….with a few times that I thought to myself (what in the heck was I thinking lol). I have learned to shoot and assemble both the m16 rifle and the m9 handgun……I have learned to perform successfully land navigation both during the day and at night (without a flashlight). Currently I am learning war games, how to clear a home, how to set up an aid station, and the different levels of medical care. I did well (after getting a grip on my fear) during the gas chamber……….that one took a lot of fear control………not sure I want to do that again. Been doing crossfit as the army’s workouts are a bit lame……..was a heat casuality in the 100 degree temps during a PT test, so I have a retake in a week, and feel confident in passing………it took me some time to get the hang of hydration with extreme temps and working out, carrying at least 40-50 pounds of gear on my body, while in full uniform………that one was sorta a ***** to manage. I have managed to keep up with the young folks fairly well and people can’t believe I am doing this………….some times neither can I lol. Say hi to the gang for me……and I will be back in the first part of October and will try to stop in.
