We’ve added new classes, both on Saturday morning. The first class (at 9:30 AM) is an Olympic Lifting for Crossfit class, and the second class (at 10:30 AM) is a Crossfit Group Class.
In the Olympic Lifting class, we’ll be doing both technique work and solid O-lifting training in this class to get our O-lift numbers up. After all, if you’re a guy, and you can’t really Clean and Jerk 135 lbs, it’s going to be tough to complete Grace as Rx’d huh? And it’d be real tough to complete Isabel (30 reps of 135 lb snatch). Don’t feel bad, those benchmarks were made for elite athletes, not many people at Motor City Crossfit can do them as prescribed yet, and I don’t know of anyone who can do them when they first start. Similarly, if you’re a lady, and you can’t do the lady’s prescribed weight for Grace or Isabel (typically 95 lbs), it’d make it difficult too. So, this class is going to help you get your O-lifts into shape pronto.
The Crossfit Group Class is going to be the same format as the Tuesday and Thursday classes. It will be focused mainly on Crossfit metcon workouts, which train all ten of the categories of fitness at once (cardiorespiratory endurance, strength, stamina, flexibility, speed, power, agility, balance, coordination, and accuracy). There will be a few benchmarks; from time to time, and also some max strength workouts on occasion.
