So, after just 2 short weeks of 5/3/1 I have a 300# + back squat…..
This is according to a fancy new WOD journal I bought from a certain MCCF trainer that says if I can squat 185# for a max 16 reps then I have a 310# 1RM. For a brief moment I considered making this book my bible and achieving all of my future PR’s mathematically in this fashion…. then, about 30 minutes later, I achieved a 15# PR by actually doing one OHS that was 15 pounds heavier than the heaviest OHS I had ever done before. It was far more fulfilling.
*I think my 215# back squat PR is about to go down, and probably my 180# front squat PR (that is now only 5# higher OHS PR)

See Patrick…..it works!! 🙂
I love that formula too. It says I hit a 260# deadlift PR last week. But Tim Shea tested out the formula on his bench press and it was right on. I’m suspecting MCCF is going to have some beastly strong members very soon…..

Finally getting some movement on my OHS!

I could feel those deadlifts during the WOD…not the best combo.
It was a good day for weakpoint training for me. OHS is a lift I struggle with.
I can’t wait to get started on 5/3/1, but my schedule blows for work lately. Luckily, I am still getting PRs on my own.

I immediately regretted the huge PR on OHS in the Metcon, well not really, but holy crap I was feeling it.
Pat, your theories intrigue me and I would like to subscribe to your magazine. I too recently purchased one of those fancy dancy log books and I’m sooooo excited about it and all of the cool knowledge it has.
