Brian G – If you’re checking this – Do you know what a good SS Snatch test # is?? I did it today and got 133. Didn’t go all out but…just curious that’s all.
I’d say anywhere near 200 is pretty good. 133 for just messing around and a first attempt is solid. It’s a real gut check. When I went through training a couple years ago I was second with 234 to the then record 259. The record (at my training) has been broken numerous times and now stands at 285. I sort of had a strategy when I did it. 10 right 10 left, then 9 right 1 left, 1 right 9 left, the 8-2, 2-8, etc, with minimal breaks. Make sure you have someone counting for you too.
There is a YouTube of a guy getting 297 or something around there, almost 30 reps/minute!

Where did you come up with that strategy Brian?? And did you switch hands with the kb on the ground or in the air?
It’s just something I came up with in my head to keep a relatively short term goal in my head a remain distracted from the suck. (i actually emailed Kelly Moore at CFHQ about this strategy since I saw she had numerous records on the SSST and she said she used a similar strategy). I changed hands in the air and tried not to put it down until I got the Rx’d combined 10 reps for whatever arm I was on.
