This weekend, as we all headed down to Columbus for the CrossFit Central East Regionals for the team competition, everyone was probably wondering if they had properly prepared for 3 days of grueling tests of their fitness. You can train in your box all you want, but this weekend – it’s different.
This weekend was about rest and recovery.
This weekend was about a 100% vertical bell. Not 95% vertical.
This weekend was about getting that chest ALL The way to the bar, and standing ALL the way up on the box.
This weekend was about calming your nerves and pushing yourself a little bit harder.
This weekend it was about hand care, proper hydration and nutrition.
This weekend you couldn’t have a bad day.
This weekend wasn’t about working out – it was about winning.
This weekend was about making it to the CrossFit games for a chance at $250,000!!
Looking back though. That’s not what this was all about. That’s just how we exercise. For me, this is what this weekend was all about…

Good times!
JD
Good times for sure!!!
Special thanks to MCCF for putting it all together, and making our box a stellar example of what Crossfit is all about. I was proud and honored all weekend to be a part of the BEST affiliate represented at this competition. LOVE my MCCF family! Thanks guys!
Looked like an awesome weekend–you are all very inspiring!
an unbelievable weekend of watching, adjusting and……oh shit, that’s right, we all agreed that what happens in Vagas, stays in Vagas. i’ll jst say this, pound for pound, grey duck tape, red wine, a bicycle chain and hair product…..you can gues the rest! Great times, great athletes and to second Yvette, we have an awesome box, trainers and XF family. proud to be a member.
Great weekend…so excited to get back there again next year…I enjoyed every part of this memory…including and not limited to the feel of cold tile on my face. Since getting home I cannot put into words exactly what it meant to have the entire team supporting each other, congratulating each other and pitching in together to put in our best effort…
Now…if I could just get the smell of bacon out of all of my belongings…
Ahh the bacon. Let’s see. I think that the total for the weekend is about 8 or 9 lbs total. Pretty impressive.
Nice job guys! Work hard and play hard. Good philosophy to live by.
Great job everyone, i’m so proud of u guys & girls. I hope u had a little fun in between all that sweat.
I feel like I’m coming down from a fun and excitement high! Regular life seems just a little bit boring today. This weekend was another reminder of what an awesome box we have! I am very proud of my coaches, the members and especially my regional team. I want to send out a special thank you to Tracy for finding us a great house and to JD and Vinny for organizing the weekend. Happy Birthday to Zuul, who I don’t thimk will forget this weekend and I’m not sure that PFP will remember. These memories will last a lifetime! Can’t wait to do it all again.
As I told most of you individually, I’m so proud of you guys. Even though I couldn’t be there I was glued to facebook getting updates by the second directly from crossfit and then John. I even screamed out a few times at your places within your heats. Then there was Jen, she totally kicked some ass. Great work, I can’t wait to see where this next year takes us!
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, we have the best box in the entire Crossfit community. All of you that went to regionals represented a little part of each of us that couldn’t go or didn’t qualify to go. You all should be proud of your efforts and how well you represented MotorCity Crossfit. As Dr. J said “I am very proud of my coaches, the members and especially my regional team.” Can’t wait until we’re all together again, great job.
Great post JD! I couldn’t agree more!
Great Job to all of you!! Thats what crossfit is all about!!! Sorry to not have been a part of or have had the chance to watch our great team!!! GO MCCF!!
