*3 full classes at 9:30am, 10:30 and 11:30.
In one of the more exciting days we’ve had at Motor City CrossFit we had an awesome turnout for the Lumberjack Hero WOD. We raised $265 for the injured and families of the fallen soldiers at Fort Hood. I would like to thank the new people for coming out in support as well, it was nice meeting all of you and I hope to see you all again very soon!
The outside temp was below 30 degrees at the start of the first WOD at 9:30 am, and it didn’t get much warmer throughout the day – thanks for bravin’ the cold.
We have a ton of good pics that will go on the flicker site but I picked a few to post for today’s blog.
*Special thanks to Jim and the Donaldson’s for bringing some extra equipment as well.

27:46 Rx’d.
Joel, Vinny and Jim
Thanks for sticking around…
This work out was a butt kicker but I had a blast with everyone! It was nice to see everyone new and old come out to support the families of the Fort Hood soldiers!
My time was 31 somthing: Alpha (DB sq cleans were only 20 lbs each)
I do agree…it was a butt kicker but had a blast doing it. I was glad to be apart of something so important and to donate to the families of the soldiers.
My time was 28:35 (pretty sure)…did with adjusted weight.
Good job EVERYONE!!!!!
It was awesome having everyone one out for this workout. It is too bad we didn’t make it into the new building yet and the new equipment didn’t arrive yet. It would have been really cool to have everyone go together instead of three separate times. There was some great, gutsy performances today. And it was fantastic having visitors like Tommy from FITInc Crossfit, Joel from Crossfit New Species, and Christine from the GM Wellness Center. Christine really kicked butt in this one today.
Great time, it was a great work out. Nice to see everyone there.
ANET……or do I mean, Jessie James……..are you going to rob a train after your done? Great form on your OHS’s……..I’m jealous!!!
Wow, this was a tough one especially after Fran yesterday, but it was well worth being a part of it. Thanks to all who participated, especially those who aren’t members of MCCF. Great job everyone for braving the cold and sucking it up.
WOD: 30:06
Nice seeing/meeting everyone today. Glad that I could take part in this Hero workout.

I gotta say that being a part of Crossfit and attending “Church” 3x a week is one of the best things I’ve done. I am having fun and getting in shape at the same time. Thank to all for the encouragement and to Vin for running that last 400 with me. That was awesome.
Joanna, I look so funny right?
I fogot to thank Christine from GM who helped me out on the last 400 M run…I was strugglin and she ran with me an helped me sprint the last few meters…thanks so much for the much needed push!
Great job to all! It was awesome to see everyone there to support this cause, work so hard and support each other through it.
Alpha: 32:46 (or something close to that)
Ughhhhh! I’m so darn sore!
This was so much fun! I’m so glad that I could have coworkers come out to play at MCCF! My friend, Julia, said it best… being part of the crossfit community is like having an ass-kickin’ family!
My time was over 30 minutes… I think 36 something.
I did everything RX’d except the DL’s which I did at 165#. My OHS were U-G-L-Y!
What a workout and I felt great too afterwards, and SORE as hell today. I am still new, but very excited about this new direction in working out.
We should do this once a month to raise funds for various charity groups! I am looking forward to more~

Watch out Cara.. Now I know there is another X-fit girl at GM…I know we will get you to the GM “Box” for some WOD’s.. can’t wait..
One other thing. Annette.. Your Welcome..
X-fit is parallel to our troops in that fact that “No X-fitter left behind”.. I didn’t care how tired I was, I saw a X-fitter that could use a bit of support and so that was it .. Got my ass off the ground and we knocked out your last 400 together….would do it again in a heartbeat..
Link to the Flicker site?
Used to be right on the site…not sure where it went….Vinny??
GREAT JOB EVERYONE THAT WAS A HUGE WOD!!!
Sorry I missed it work can be a pain sometimes.
