SFC Matthew L. Hilton (on the left) was killed while on active duty supporting Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan on June 26th 2008. Matt was a team leader in the Michigan Army National Guard and attached to F Co 425th Infantry (ABN)(LRS), he was also a full time Police Officer for the City of Lathrup Village. A memorial was dedicated to him today at the Lathrup Village City Building.
I had the honor to serve in the same Platoon with Matt for a year in Iraq. Matt was a good Soldier, Police Officer and Friend. You are missed.
I would like to thank every other service member that continues to serve and to those that have made the ultimate sacrifice so that we may live free.
