Lots of folks impressed the heck out of me today. Let’s see…

Cara, when she started with us (not even 2 months ago I believe) couldn’t really hold herself up at the top of a jumping pullup. Today, she did every single pullup without assistance, AND did 75 lb thrusters (where just a few weeks ago her 1RM thruster was in the high 60 lb range).

Dave, by the end of the workout, had absolutely nailed his form on the kipping pullup. He’s going to be dangerous in a short amount of time. Not to mention his ridiculously insane performance in the 1RM Clean & Jerk workout on Tuesday.

Brian, same story, great technique and was nailing the thrusters with form that’d pass the most scrutinizing eyes. Him and Brian had a duel going on in the Clean & Jerk, I think we should enter both in a weightlifting competition, a little more solid technique on both movements, and we’re going to see some crazy weights.

Shawn, I don’t see many people themselves as hard as Shawn does. He was dang near his 1RM thruster with the prescribed weight, but fought through, and literally did a clean and thruster, dumped the bar, did a clean and thruster, dumped the bar, etc… Dude basically did “Grace” as part of this workout and then some.

Tommy, this guy is going to be a serious competitor in the regionals. At a pretty light bodyweight, he moves some seriously heavy weights, really fast, and keeps going. Watching him the first few rounds, I honestly thought for a minute that he was going to have a near time in the 4-5 minute range on this workout.

JD, however, didn’t impress me with anything.
Ok, just kidding. With JD, I seriously have trouble saying something NEW good about him, because the dude has impressed me so many times with his work in the past, that if I say it again, it’s like “Dude, you just said that like 2 months ago…” But it’d be true, he’s already blown away his past performance by then.
