One of the great things about CrossFit is its ability to take hold of you and the passion it creates within ourselves. I notice this in a lot of our members. Sometimes people come in and work out and that’s fine. For others, it’s definitely something more. For Jim Smith, and Carey Fortunate CrossFit has become a part of their lives! Not only do they constantly praise CrossFit and its benefits, but they practice what they preach. For evidence of this one only needs to look at Carey’s Facebook avatar or her recent qualification for the CrossFit Midwest Regionals. And for Jim – The guy hasn’t had two working arms for about 8 months but you can still find him hanging around the gym doing 1 arm deadlifts and still busting his tail. Leading by example and spreading the word of CrossFit has led Jim and Carey to partner, along with Myself, in opening another CrossFit affiliate on the east side.
Introducing CrossFit Transformation!
We’re in the process of finalizing our affiliate agreement, and if all goes well – CrossFit Transformation, located in Roseville, MI. should be up and running sometime in April!
More details to follow, but just so everybody knows, I will be keeping my current responsibilities with Motor City CrossFit while taking on additional responsibilities at CrossFit Transformation. I’m going to be a busy guy but I don’t really look at this as additional work, for me it’s just more fun!
This is very exciting as we continously work towards growing the CrossFit community in southeast Michigan. Motor City CrossFit and CrossFit Transformation will work together. We will take advantage of an already strong bond that we have with each other(Me, Carey, Jim, Matt and Vinny) and our athletes to make this a fun and exciting period for everybody involved.

Let me be the first to say Congratulations to the owners of CrossFit Transformation!!! You guys are some of the hardest working people I know, as evidenced by your dedication to the 6am CrossFit workout! If you work half as hard on your affiliate as you do in your workouts, you will be an amazing success! I look forward to playing with my new sister 🙂

Congrats to Jim, Carey and J.D. on your new venture. I can only second what Cara said about your work ethic and how that will transform (like the play on words there) your affiliate into a successful adventure.
