Hey Again!
The MCCF brain trust (if we can be called that) had a meeting yesterday and we were talking about things we could do to improve the gym. One of the things we’re going forward with is a kick-ass new pull-up system in the middle of th place. Basically, we’re going to knock out the middle wall and install a ton of pull-up bars along the middle of the place making the pull-up structure the center/focus of MCCF. This is something that we (Me, Matt and Vinny) all agree on and think it’s important to the future of MCCF. That being said…
What would you guys like to see next?
Here’s a few ideas…
1. Shower(s)
2. More equipment (rowers/barbells/kettlebells/GHD machines etc.)
3. Tanning bed (my choice)
4. Any other ideas??
We’re probably going to spend a few bucks making the front reception area a little nicer too – FYI.
It’s our belief that our members must be involved in the continued growth and improvement of our box. Without you all we wouldn’t be where we are and wouldn’t even be talking about this stuff.
This is one of the things I love about MCCF. We the members aren’t just clients showing up for a WOD, you (Vinny, J.D. & Matt) actually make us feel like we are part of something bigger.
So here’s my two cents on suggestions and not in any particular order:
Shower, GHD’s, floor matting, an office (for the owner’s/trainers), bumpers (45’s, 35’s, 25’s), barbells (45lb), rowers, plyo boxes, holding certs (level 1, oly, row, etc.).
If you pick showers as the first improvement also add how many times a week you think u will use the shower.
My vote would be
1) Shower (every morning session) ~2days per week (when I come back)
2) GHDs
For GHD’s are you guys thinking big GHD’s like the white one, or more like the 2 smaller ones? We could probably buy a decent # of smaller ones, or a few of the white ones, or like one of the gigundo linebacker-size ones you may have seen elsewhere.
I’m just guessing here Matt but I think everybody hates those shitty little GHD machines…
And those linebacker ones are just too dang big IMO…

A nice and loud sound system. I know that we can pickup some good used equipment for a bargain. I’ll take care of the installation as well. Music is an important part of the workout for me (and others as I’ve noticed) …for some reason it just makes everythign hurt less =)
I’m with Tom B. The GHD is an awesome exercise. When I do them during a WOD, I usually feel it for several days after, deep to the core. You just can’t do them correctly using the back extension machine.
I like those shitty little GHD Machines.
I like Terry’s idea, more music = more good.
GHD machines would be cool too though, the big white ones.
Okay – So far it’s looking like Music and a few Yukon GHD’s may be the best bang for our buck. Showers are probably more appealing to a few certain members which is important. What do you guys think about a few more nice GHD’s a new sound system then Showers??
I’d use the showers 2 times a week…but are we talking about a single shower or a couple of showers? If we are talking about a single shower (i.e I’d have to wait 20 minutes while Chuck showers using his lavender kiwi bodywash) …my vote is for the big white GHDs.
Didn’t event think about a new sound system, but that is a great idea.

I love the music idea and I have to vote for more rowers- also one day I would like to see the boxing bag hung. When we hang the new bar system can we keep us short people in mind? Please- Thank-you!!!
Oh I like the white GHD machine too so a couple more would be great!!!
